Christmas from the eyes of a child....

Lincoln has been counting down the days until Christmas, to say the least he's been really excited!! On Christmas eve we reenacted the Nativity Scene and it was so special. Lincoln was Joseph, Paige was the cutest Mary I've ever seen, Matt (Heidi's husband) was the donkey, Hilary was a wise man, Heidi was a shepherd, I was..... the angel (what a perfect match, jk!), mom was Anna the prophetess and my dad was the narrator. It was so precious. After we read, Lincoln and I left cookies out for Santa and the kids headed to bed. Santa's workshop began..... the train table was put together, presents were wrapped and the cookies and milk were eaten. All of Santa's elves went to bed very tired and yet woke up again at 6:15 to begin the festivities. Lincoln was finally allowed to go see what Santa had left him and to his surprise Santa was very good to him. He was entranced by all of the presents, it was so so fun to see his eyes. Paige just enjoyed helping everyone unwrap presents and opening boxes. It was such a special Christmas. Being Santa is so much fun!!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

It started snowing Friday night and it hasn't stopped since. We had a snow party outside, it was tons of fun. Saturday night my friend and I ice skated on the side walk, it was pretty slippery. And going to church today was like walking through a blizard!!! I slipped so many times walking down the hill. We have Sacrament meeting in a building with a lot of windows and we could see the snow falling as we listened to the Christmas music, it was so serene and beautiful.

The Joy of Christmas

Some of the sweet moms that have come to the class over the semester.
I have really come to care about them. I am going to miss them.

This is my friend Derek Larsen who totally helped me out. I asked him really really late the night before and he agreed to be Santa the next day. But I mean who wouldn't want to play Santa for some really fun kids??

It was so fun to see the kids react to him.... some were shy,

some cried and one couldn't be close enough. This is what Christmas is about.... the excitement of a little child over Santa Clause.

Who's been good this year?....... I have!!!

Becca tried on the costume first, but she just has two pretty eyes to be Santa...
she's too pretty to be Santa

Oh Christmas Tree

Maggie, Becca and I found our beautiful tree at Smiths.
We loaded it on top of Maggie's car and brought her home.
She's a beauty and makes our house smell so good, I love it.

My Last District

Sis. Chuy, me, Sis. Lopez, Sis. Valdez, Sis. Lagos
Elder Fernandez, Caamal & Wasquebich
I didn't end up teaching very long at the MTC but I can surely say that I learned a lot. I learned how to be a better teacher, how to counsel with the Spirit and how to be more patient. I'll be honest, it was at times a little too stressful for me but I know I was supposed to be there the amount of time I was. I loved all of the missionaries I taught. They all taught me life lessons. I will be sad not to go back but the Lord has prepared me for other things.

Happy Halloween!!

Jack O. Lantern, or Cornelious as some called him, didn't do much scaring that night....
in fact he was the one spooked. Sadly enough he was decapitated, we found him in a ditch in front of our house. What a sad way to die. These are the last pictures we have of him in life.
He now rests in peace.
Death date 10/31/06
My friend Justin and I carved a pumkin on Halloween.
It was the first one I had done in years.
I kept the seeds to bake but I realized I'm not such a huge fan of them.
Isn't our pumkin cute though, it turned out really good!!!
Me and Rebecca with Jack O. Lantern.

Fall Fun!!

So Jack is my man... isn't he cute!! He's really a scarecrow..... don't tell anyone.
I made him with my Cloverbuds (the after school class).
What beautiful girls....Sheryl, Maggie, Rebecca, Thalia and Alisa.
I am so thankful that I live with such inspiring, kind and motivated girls, it truly is a blessing!

Timpanogos Elementary Parent Center

Nikki (the Office Assistant), Estela (my Supervisor) and me (the Intern).
This was taken at the Lights Out After School activity, we were cleaning up and way tired!!
It was a great success!!
This is when the Red Cross came and presented at the Parenting class that I coordinate.
There is a class almost every Friday. Usually there are more Spanish speaking mothers which is really fun I think.
This is from the craft activity of the Parenting class.
It's so fun to see the moms and kids react. That's my favorite part of Friday.
These are my cute little Cloverbuds. I teach a K-2nd grade afterschool program through the 4H. They have lots of energy and at times it can get pretty crazy but I have fun. We painted pumpkins for Halloween, aren't they cute? Don't worry mom thought of that one, she helps me collaborate for my class, thank goodness for an amazing and crafty mom.
